We will be back in March 2019 Ready to learn how to belly dance? Come along to this Level 1 class and I will get you started. Learn or recap all the core movements of belly dance and learn a dance that each week builds into a magnificent choreography! This high-energy class teaches belly dance basics applicable to any style of belly dance. I'll be teaching you a little bit about different styles of belly dance around the world each week for fun, and you will be discovering muscles you never knew you had as you become more graceful, co-ordinated and in control of your body movements. Get ready to have fun and get sweaty. Suitable for newcomers to belly dance, folk with a year or so of beginner belly dance classes under their belt, and anyone wanting to really tighten up their core belly dance technique. |
LEVEL 2 CLASSES BELOW are open to intermediate/improver dancers. You will need a minimum of two years belly dancing classes experience to keep up: and I am very sharp on technique, so you need to confidently be able to execute all all level 1/beginners bellydance vocabulary to pull off the cool stuff I am going to get you to do.
If you are not sure, you are more than welcome to pop along and try a few classes in one evening and see where you are happiest!

We will be back in March 2019 Join us for an hour of sweat, shimmy and badass skills this Summer! Tribal Fusion is my speciality style which I perform all over the world. In this class I will challenge you to master cool combos and gorgeous technique, learning strong isolations, lock sequences, layering and fluidity. We start with a conditioning warm up, because dancers have to be strong, and a hardcore ten minute flow drill of tribal fusion vocabulary. Then we dive into technique, and put together a magical Tribal Fusion choreography. Then we all go home and have a shower. This term we will be learning a Tribal Fusion Choreography with the opportunity to perform it at the Cambridge Hafla in December. This is a Tribal Fusion specific technique and style class, open to tribal fusion dancers and oriental belly dancers and suitable for dancers who have had a minimum of 2 years experience belly dancing, and can execute the basic belly dancing vocabulary with ease. |

FAQ's and Levels
If I miss a class in the set can I make it up in another class?
Sorry, unfortunately not - the classes are not interchangeable, so if you miss a week of say beginners class, it would be unhelpful and overwhelming to try and make it up in one of the more advanced classes.
"How do I know which level to take?"

"How do I know which level to take?"
- If you have been dancing for less than two years, we recommend the Level 1 Beginner's class so you can get the basics of this particular form of belly dance down - it might be a little more precise and hardcore than what you are used to! Don't worry, if I see you having an easy time of it, I'll give you something extra to make it hard :D
- If you have been dancing for more than two years, or have been in intermediate/advanced levels in other belly dance groups, you are welcome to try the Level 2 classes. Here you will adapt your technique to our precise tribal fusion style and be challenged and stretched beyond what you thought possible!
- You can always try ONE class in a set of classes at a drop in rate, to see if it's the right class for you.

"I really love the gothic stuff, I think it's fun to do slightly darker dancing - you don't get to do that in a lot of dance styles. It's just really great fun!"

"For me the social aspect in ATS is one of it's strongest sides - you're dancing with people, you're improvising together, you are messing up sometimes and having a laugh about it! You are always giggling together and communicating through the dance and it's just been such a fantastic way for me to meet some really good friends and to improve my social life."
